SignalRGB File Locations
This page lists the key directories SignalRGB uses. Knowing these paths is useful for troubleshooting, backing up configurations, or manually installing components and plugins.
Key Directories
Section titled “Key Directories”- Application install:
%localappdata%\VortxEngine\app-VERSION\Signal-x64\ - User data & settings:
%localappdata%\VortxEngine\ - Layouts & configs:
%userprofile%\Documents\WhirlwindFX\ - Log files:
%localappdata%\VortxEngine\app-VERSION\Signal-x64\Logs\ - Effects (downloaded):
%localappdata%\VortxEngine\app-VERSION\Signal-x64\effects\ - Components:

Replace VERSION with your current SignalRGB version number. You can find your version in Settings > About.
Opening a Path Quickly
Section titled “Opening a Path Quickly”Press WIN + R to open the Run dialog, paste any path from the table above (with the correct version number filled in), and press Enter to open it in File Explorer.
Log Files
Section titled “Log Files”Log files are the most useful resource when troubleshooting. You can view them directly at %localappdata%\VortxEngine\app-VERSION\Signal-x64\Logs\ or access them from within SignalRGB:
- Click the bug icon in the upper-right corner of the app.
- Click View Logs to open the log directory.
When submitting a bug report, attach the most recent log file to help the support team diagnose your issue faster.
Launcher Path
Section titled “Launcher Path”The SignalRGB launcher executable — used for creating startup shortcuts or Task Scheduler entries — is located at:
%localappdata%\VortxEngine\SignalRgbLauncher.exe
