VortX Not Detected Updated
Section titled “VortX Not Detected Updated”VortX is WhirlwindFX’s haptic feedback chair pad that connects via USB. If VortX is not showing up in SignalRGB:
- Download and install the latest FTDI drivers then perform a full power cycle.
- Ensure VortX is connected to a USB port directly on your PC — avoid USB hubs, as VortX requires reliable power delivery.
- Try a different USB port, preferably a USB 3.0 port on the back of your motherboard.
- Restart SignalRGB after changing ports.
- Check Device Manager to see if VortX appears with a yellow warning icon — if so, right-click and select Update driver.
VortX Not Vibrating / No Haptic Feedback Updated
Section titled “VortX Not Vibrating / No Haptic Feedback Updated”If VortX is detected in SignalRGB but not producing haptic feedback:
- Check that an effect supporting haptics is active — not all effects drive the VortX haptic motor. Look for effects labeled with haptic or VortX support in the Library.
- Verify the VortX intensity is not set to zero in the effect’s settings.
- Make sure the VortX is not muted — check Settings > Application for haptic output settings.
VortX and Screen Capture Sync Updated
Section titled “VortX and Screen Capture Sync Updated”VortX can sync haptic feedback to screen content using Screen Capture. For this to work:
- Screen Capture must be active and working (see About Screen Capture)
- The game or content must be in Fullscreen Borderless mode
- HDR must be disabled
VortX Firmware Update Updated
Section titled “VortX Firmware Update Updated”If your VortX is behaving unexpectedly, a firmware update may resolve the issue. SignalRGB checks for VortX firmware updates automatically. When an update is available, a notification appears on the VortX device card on the Devices page. Click it to update.
