Library and 404 Issues

If SignalRGB is showing a 404 error, the library is failing to load with grey dots, or the effects thumbnails aren't loading, it's having trouble establishing an internet connection. There are several things that can cause those to occur. Below you will find a list of causes and solutions ordered from most common to least common.

Clear the app cache

Sometimes clearing the cache is enough to deal with effects/library issues.

To restart SignalRGB cache, click here: https://go.signalrgb.com/app/app/clearCache?restart=true

SignalRGB is blocked by Windows Firewall

To allow SignalRGB through Windows Firewall, open Control Panel and navigate to System and Security . Then, select Allow an App through Windows Defender Firewall .

Then, click the Change Settings button. Scroll down to SignalRGB or signalrgb.exe and ensure all boxes next to it are checked. Then, click OK at the bottom of the page.

DNS Issues

Some ISPs have issues resolving our hostname, or maybe a bad route is blocking access to our host, a way to prevent that is using Google DNS or Cloudflare DNS:

Network app blocking requests

If you have a network-wide service that blocks requests to certain domains, you may need to disable or add our requests to the whitelist.

SignalRGB is blocked by your antivirus

Some antivirus software may block SignalRGB from communicating with the internet. To fix this, create an exclusion for the path %localappdata%\VortxEngine . Due to the wide variety of antivirus software available, this process will differ depending on the antivirus you are using.

Your Windows username has non-standard English characters

If your Windows username contains non-standard English characters (åéñòüç), SignalRGB may not function properly. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to migrate one user profile folder to a new one. We suggest backing up whatever data you consider important and creating a new user account name without using special characters where you can later restore your manual backup.

You have IPv4 disabled

SignalRGB communicates using the IPv4 protocol. If your network adapter has IPv4 disabled, SignalRGB will not function. To enable IPv4, open Control Panel and go to Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change Adapter Settings .

Click on your network adapter and select Properties . Then, ensure the box next to Internet Protocol Version 4 is checked.

Then, select Properties . In the popup window that opens, select Use the following DNS server addresses: and enter 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 . Then, click OK on all open dialog boxes.

Your country or ISP blocks access to certain content

If your country or ISP blocks access to certain websites or services, you may need to utilize a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to use SignalRGB.
